Hauggrend - 2 minuten
Climb Skrefjellet — a 400-metre hike suitable for the whole family (ages 7 and up), with or without a guide. Afterwards, you might want to treat yourself to a well-deserved sauna.

Blueberries, bilberries, chanterelles, cloudberries. The woods around Fossumsanden are teeming with mushrooms and berries — all you need is a bucket and a bit of patience.
All summer long
There is hardly any light pollution. On clear August evenings, the Milky Way is so clearly visible that you can almost reach out and touch it.
If the children are coming along, fun experiences are the priority. A climbing park and a water park, a mine with a train ride, horse riding in the countryside and an old hotel that looks like something out of a fairy tale — Vest-Telemark has plenty to offer.
Fyresdal - 25 min
The climbing park is designed so that you can use it without safety equipment. Here, you can climb in nets, balance, whizz along the zip line or swing on coconuts. A popular range of activities for young and old alike.

Set off from Dalen and head into the mountains — up to over 1,050 metres above sea level, through one of the last areas in Norway where wild reindeer roam. Narrow, winding and spectacular. One of Norway’s most beautiful roads for motorcycling, and an unforgettable day trip for cars and campervans.

A bakery with a wood-fired oven in the heart of Vinje. Pop in for fresh rolls and bread straight from the stone oven, or have lunch in the café — the famous Mjonøyburger is a great reason to stop by. A perfect stop-off on the way to Haukeli or Hardangervidda.

Norway’s largest stave church — a 13th-century wooden cathedral, 29 metres high, which is still in use today. A guided tour in Norwegian or English is included in the admission price. Afterwards, do pop into Café Olea for waffles and cakes.
